Breast Reconstruction After Cancer.
There are often several reconstructive options to consider when a patient is faced with the need for mastectomy. Dr. Ray is fellowship-trained and has 10 years of experience in microvascular and complex reconstructive techniques including perforator flaps (DIEP, SGAP, PAP, etc), latissimus flaps and implant-based reconstruction.
Gender-Affirming Top and Bottom Surgery.
Dr. Ray has helped pioneer gender-affirming surgery in Los Angeles and serves as the Lead Plastic Surgeon in Southern California's first comprehensive academic transgender surgery and health program. He performs all types of chest surgery and works with the genital reconstruction team to perform phallourethroplasty.
Considering a breast reduction, breast lift or augmentation? Dr. Ray's expertise in difficult techniques (such as the vertical scar breast reduction and free flap reconstruction) has earned him praise and a prominent position on the short list of surgeons who perform these procedures in Los Angeles.
Not all reconstructive surgeons are the same.
Whether you have physical trauma from an accident, deformity from cancer surgery or are seeking gender-affirming procedures, Dr. Ray may be able to help. His training includes a full residency and board-certification in General Surgery, full residency and board-certification in Plastic Surgery as well as a fellowship in reconstructive microsurgery at the prestigious Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Since graduating from the Mayo Clinic's Medical School 20 years ago, Dr. Ray has earned a reputation as a compassionate and uniquely skilled surgeon.
Cutting Edge Technology.
Dr. Ray's team uses the latest in microsurgical technology to perform complex reconstructive procedures. He has pioneered the use of the 3D video microscope in plastic surgery, and was the first surgeon to use this device to perform a free flap phallourethroplasty, followed shortly after by the first gender-affirming bilateral free flap breast reconstruction in a transgender patient.
